Ex-President Trump has expressed reluctance about sending federal funding to his hometown of New York City if progressive front-runner Zohran Mamdani secure victory this week's city leadership contest.

"It's gonna be difficult for me as president to allocate a lot of money to New York, because when there's a socialist leading New York, what happens is misusing the funds you're sending there," Donald Trump remarked during a television interview.
