BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Overly Demanding
The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to unlock specific weapons.
Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions made via the custom game tool to complete them, emphasizing just how arduous these challenges have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four types of assignments, but although many only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the only way of getting twelve from the forty-one primary weapons found within the game.
Several of these gated guns might eventually earn a place on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration via Reddit
On Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This task is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and is effective only at extremely close range, which isn't typically where you aim to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Ridiculously Tough Mission
A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons
This is challenging enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing a specific urban map, a particular valley environment, and maybe an additional option if you're lucky if you want to snipe from a significant distance.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: the portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.
However, when completing the missions in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for completing them in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if some of these assignments are toned down in the near future, because if they're not, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
At the moment, the audience continues to express their views on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous overall gameplay in coming revisions.
